29 Dec The 3D Rendering Artist
The 3D rendering artist has quite a job in front of him/her. The challenge presented to the artist comes in the form of the client’s requirements and, the plans and elevations.
Over the years our 3D artists have produced thousands upon thousands of 3D images, all of which are unique. Below you will find a few examples of these 3D renders that we think communicate what the architect or designer was going for. There is also a rough guide to our process – how we create the visuals for architects.
To get started on a project our clients will send over plans, elevations and a schedule of materials. Along with these might also come, mood boards, sketches and sample images for reference. Here is an example of something we might receive.
The 3D visualizer will use these details to create 3D models of all the separate elements which will be in the scene. This includes the space (walls, windows, floor and ceiling), all the furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) and any other items. These are then positioned in the scene and covered in a white material. Cameras are set up and ‘greys’ are sent to our client for comments.
Once the client has chosen their preferred views the 3D visualizer will add the textures and lighting to start making the image look realistic. Again, this is presented to our client to make any necessary design changes. We call these ‘mark-ups’ but they have many other names, ‘redlines’ ‘comments’ or ‘feedback’.
With the changes made, the 3D visualizer sends through the final issue. It has been a long journey and many hours have been spent modelling, lighting, texturing and emailing back and
How We Work
Every 3D rendering artist will have different ways in which they work with their customers. The way we work with our clients is unique and allows for our customers to be involved and have some input in the creative process. These two pages explain the 3D visualisation process and how we create 3D visualisations for interior designers.
It’s the skill, technical know-how and passion of the 3D artist which makes the difference in a project like this. It is a brilliant way for everyone involved in the project to get an idea of what they are all working towards.
More examples of our work can be found on our 3D visualisation portfolio.
